  • Securing grant money for public health programs

  • Distribute children's activity books which teach young readers about nutrition, safety, self-esteem and conflict resolution. The books help kids to focus on making healthy, positive choices.
  • Collect cell phones for domestic violence shelters.
  • Promote healthy lifestyles.
  • Obesity awareness.
  • Health Literacy.
  • Educate parents of children, children, and teens about sun safety.
  • Promote literacy and reading to young children.
  • Promote the S.M.A.R.T. (Students Made Aware Reject Tobacco) program in schools.
  • Promote the SAVE (Stop America's Violence Everywhere) program. Reached almost all school children K-3.
  • Provide health-related articles to our newspapers.
  • Educate the public about organ donation, osteoporosis, and breast cancer. Upon learning that teachers and staff have a 60% higher mortality rate from breast cancer, 88,000 were reached with breast cancer awareness materials in their pay checks. Reached almost all alliance members with seed packets saying "Mammograms can detect breast cancers when it is only the size of a tiny seed."
  • Promote donations to medical schools and health literacy programs through the AMA Foundation.
  • Have a voter registration drive.
