Tobacco Cessation Different people need different resources as they try to quit. The information and professional assistance available on the smokefree.gov Web site can help to support both immediate and long-term needs to become, and remain, a nonsmoker. This Web site was created by the Tobacco Control Research Branch of the National Cancer Institute, with important contributions from other nationally recognized agencies and organizations such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Cancer Society.

Free Tobacco Cessation Assistance
The quit line offers a one-on-one proactive counseling program for tobacco users ready to quit. A downloadable fact sheet containing information and frequently asked questions about the quit line is available. In addition, Medicaid recipients may be eligible for free nicotine replacement therapy products.

Smoke Free PaducahSmoke Free Paducah
The McCracken County Medical Association is seeking to ban smoking in indoor public places in the City of Paducah and McCracken County. The Committee for a Smoke-free Paducah supports the Society in this effort. A number of organizations have also given their support to the effort to make Paducah and McCracken County smoke-free.
