Colon Cancer Prevention Project
The Colon Cancer Prevention Project is a division of Good Health Ideas Inc., a non-profit organization that seeks to educate people of Kentucky on how to live a healthy life, prevent disease, and improve the quality of life.
Kentucky Cancer Registry
The Kentucky Cancer Registry is a mandatory reporting system for all health care facilities in the state of Kentucky. Through this system, all new cases of cancer are reported and much of the data that is collected is used to prepare research projects and proposals in new cancer treatments.
Markey Cancer Center
The mission of the Markey Cancer Center is to reduce the morbidity and mortality from cancer through a comprehensive program of cancer education, research, patient care and community outreach activities.
Brown Cancer Center
The Brown Cancer Center at the University of Louisville treats a wide range of cancers and is has been recognized for its clinical care, research, prevention, education, and community outreach efforts. The Brown Cancer Center dedicated to making the scientific discoveries that lead to medical recoveries.
Kentucky Cancer Program
The Kentucky Cancer Program is a statewide network of 12 regional offices staffed by cancer control specialists who provide local leadership on cancer control planning and initiatives.
National Cancer Institutes, Cancer Information Service
The National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Information Service (CIS) has educated patients and their families, the public, and health care professionals for nearly three decades. CIS information specialists answer calls to 1-800-4-Cancer (1-800-422-6237) in English and Spanish from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday.
American Cancer Society
With chartered divisions throughout the country and over 3,400 local offices, the American Cancer Society (ACS) is committed to fighting cancer through balanced programs of research, education, service and advocacy.
UK Center for Prevention Research
The Center is a nationally recognized multi-disciplinary social science institute focusing on rigorous scientific investigation into the effects, predictors, and prevention of social behaviors whose abuse carries health costs.
