Kentucky Medical Association

Kentucky Physicians PAC, KMA's political action arm, increases the medical community's impact on the pro-medicine makeup of the Kentucky General Assembly. With physician contributions, Kentucky Physicians PAC will build on the recent success of campaign radio ads and the second highest winning percentage of all state PACs to help elect legislators who understand the importance of a strong medical community.

2008 KPPAC Physicians' Guide to the Primary Elections

KPPAC urges physicians to participate in the electoral process by voting in the upcoming primary election set for Tuesday, May 20. Healthcare policy is a significant issue at both the state and federal level of government. It has a tremendous impact on both patients and physicians, and the outcome of elections often determines the direction in which lawmakers proceed. As one legislator mentioned to KMA representatives during the 2008 Kentucky General Assembly, "policy is made in May and November, not during the legislative session."

Now is the time physicians should engage in the electoral process by supporting candidates who are pro-medicine, contributing to their campaigns, voting on election day (find your polling place), and by joining Kentucky Physicians PAC (join KPPAC online). To help physicians better understand which candidates running in the primary elections are supportive of medicine, KPPAC provides this physician guide. Keep in mind, the information about the candidates included in this guide only addresses issues important to medicine. For additional information about candidates' views on healthcare care issues, contact KPPAC. For iinformation on other issues, KPPAC urges you to contact candidates' campaigns.
