AMA has begun an advertising campaign supporting an increase in the tobacco tax to fund children's health care. These advertisements ask Congress to increase the federal tobacco tax to pay for the reauthorization of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), a federal-state program that provides health care coverage to millions of low-income children. Along with these print ads that have run in Capitol Hill publications, AMA has also partnered with AARP to launch a national TV advertising campaign.
