The Kentucky e-Health Network (KEHN) Board is conducting a statewide assessment of the use of health information technology (HIT) in Kentucky. Within the next month, Kentucky physicians may receive a short survey. This information will be used by the KEHN Board to determine how to focus resources in the area of health information technology. According to the KEHN, physician participation is essential to this assessment.
The KEHN Board was established by the Kentucky legislature in 2005 (SB2). The KEHN goal is to establish a statewide, interoperable electronic health network for physicians and health care providers in an effort to bring the right information to the right person in a timely manner.
The University of Kentucky College of Public Health is conducting the study in order to gather information from physicians on how information technology is used and the barriers for further adoption. The survey cover letter from Dr. Carol L. Steltenkamp, MD, MBA, Vice-Chair of the Kentucky e-Health Network Board, provides additional details. |
